I mean, sure, I want to be healthier and happier and all of that crap. But those need to be habits, not resolutions.
For whatever reason, the past two years I stopped keeping track of the books I read (likely due to the PhD eating my brain). So this year I have (ahem) 'resolved' to keep track again. Let's start:
So far this year I have finished:
Diary of a Witchcraft Shop, by Trevor Jones and Liz Williams (full disclosure: they are friends of mine and lovely people, and the book was rather good fun)
Already started but not yet finished:
Crashing Heaven by Al Robertson (another friend and member of my writing group in London, though my having moved north and his having moved south means that neither of us really attend meetings any more, for which I am sad)
Hild by Nicola Griffith
Maul by Tricia Sullivan
Granted, I am scheduled to go to the gym tomorrow morning (and I went Thursday even though I have been full of a headcold for nearly two weeks) , so the whole 'be healthier thing' is there, but not quite as much fun as keeping track of a year's worth of reading.
